    The show is just a s good as the books. Even though it follows the story line very loosely there are some parts of the show that I wish were in the books

    The show does not follow the plot of the book and the characters are just annoying. (they do however match thier discriptions so that’s one plus.) It would be better if it wasn't based off the mortal instruments and it was a different plot entirely. The Shadowhunter books are one of my favorite books series but the show does not live up to it. If you are expecting it to be like the books I do not recomend it.

    On its own, it’s decent. But knowing it is an adaptation of the books, it’s very disappointing. Like the books, I kind of like it ironically.

    It doesn't follow the books at all. If you read the books beforehand it's really confusing and doesn't make sense. Also the main character is portrayed it a stuck up attitude kind of way. But the show is good to watch just needs some major fixing to it.

    Every time I read the books I get mad. So much depth gets left out of a book series when they make a show or movie out of it. So last yr I began watching this because I had nothing else to watch. I had made it thru 7 episodes of season 1 and quit cuz a better show released on Netflix, but I'm glad I found this on Hulu. I'm also glad I didn't read the books, because at first the acting was annoying and then the story finally started taking shape. So I now have this show added to my watchlist on Hulu. Waiting on episode 19 of season 2 to air. My advice is if u loved the books so much sometimes it's never as good as u imagined it in your head. So it's always best to at lest give it a watch and then decide for yourself.

    This is a great show. I will admit that it does start off real quickly. It hits high points so fast, but then it slows down. It always keeps you on your toes.
